“Before” I started taking cold showers
So this is one of those habits that I would never imagine doing willingly, just mentioning this to people makes them cringe “Yeah man, I’m going to be taking cold showers for 30 days”. Most people will absolutely freak at the idea of this and ask me why I would do this.
Of course I’m not fond of this, the last cold shower I took was because the plumbing in my parents house actually was having issues and we had no hot water so I was actually forced to take a cold shower. Beyond that it may have been jumping into a pool of cold water on a not so sunny day.
Part of the 30 days of discipline program is to take a cold shower every morning, at the time of writing this post I’m on day 1 of my 30 day journey and took my first cold shower this morning. It really was not all that bad, I just had to make some changes to my routine. Normally in the shower I also wash my face so I applied the face wash prior to getting into the shower. Considering the shower was cold I basically got in and out in less than 5 minutes.
Question is can I do this all through the next month? Even on cold days in November?
Why Cold Showers?
This is an awesome article talking about some of the benefits of cold showers, I’ll just highlight some of the benefits here:
- Improved blood circulation
- Improved mood
- Increased immune strength
- Increased testosterone levels
- Metabolic advantages
- Better breathing
These all sound awesome to me! Let’s see how I do over the next 30 days.
